Principles of Animation - Exaggeration

In your own words, what do you think is the principle of animation identified?
Where does it occur (outside of the examples provided in the videos)?

  1. exaggeration expresses feelings, emotions of the character example: sad, angry, worried

    1. Need more from this, like remember its pushing it to the extreme, if sad, make them sadder, angry, angrier, worried, more worried etc. remember the point is to make everything more convincing.

  2. Exaggerations increase the action, movement or expression to make it more realistic or powerful. an example is a very hard punch

  4. Doing more to give more life and meaning to a scene so the audience can grasp the extent of of what just happened.

    A flammable truck exploding immediately after crashing to show dangerous it is.

  5. The over emphasis of an action to further enhance the meaning of the action. Eg. a punch to the face may be exaggerated to display a hard hit to the face.

  6. Exaggeration is additional emphasis given to an animation which makes it somewhat more than realistic. For example a character is falling of a precipice before the character falls to the ground he/she is trying to go back up trying to defy the laws of gravity.

  7. Exaggeration occurs mostly when you want to emphasize an action, expression and to add dynamics to a character.
